Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain are believed to be in advanced negotiations over a deal to take winger Angel Di Maria to France, but The Guardian is reporting that Laurent Blanc’s side have offered just €40m (£28.5m) for his services.
United paid Real Madrid a UK record £59.7m for his signature last summer (via BBC) and club Chief Executive Ed Woodward is believed to be holding out for a bigger fee from the Ligue 1 champions.
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal had wanted Di Maria to stay, but The Guardian claim that United are still unsure about the player’s whereabouts. He had been due to fly out to join his teammates in San Jose on their US tour last weekend but failed to show up.
A report in the Daily Mirror seems to think that he will jet out to Paris this weekend to put the finishing touches on a move to PSG.
The Mirror claims that the Argentine international will put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal in the French capital, and will continue to earn himself a stunning £200,000-per-week.
However, it seems that PSG will have to up their offer if they want the move completed quickly.
