Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling has told Liverpool that he will not be joining them on their pre-season tour of Australia and South-East Asia as he intends to do whatever he can to force a move away from Anfield this summer, the Daily Mirror reports.
Manchester City are expected to be weighing up a third bid that will be closer to Liverpool’s £50m valuation of the 20-year-old, and talks between Sterling and Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will take place this week when he reports back for pre-season training.
And it is there that he will tell Rodgers that not only does he still want to leave the club this summer, but he will also not be joining them on their pre-season tour.
Liverpool are set to fly out to the far east on Sunday, where they will start with a game against Thai All Stars in Bangkok next Tuesday, before moving on to Brisbane and Adelaide before a game in Malaysia on the way home.
