A report in the Metro has claims Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller has confirmed that Manchester United have tabled and offer for his services and that he is flattered by their interest.
United boss Louis van Gaal is a known admirer of the Germany international, and has reportedly been watching him for some time.
Reports had surfaced that United had put together a package worth £113m to tempt him away from the Alianz Arena, he confirmed in an interview with German publication Bild that there was definitely an approach, which he was happy to receive.
“When a request comes, automatically you deal with it,” Muller said when he was asked about the interest from United.
“And a request from a big club is an honour and a reward that one’s performance is good.”
However, despite him confirming United’s interest, he has reiterated his desire to stay at Bayern. He is still under contract with the Bundesliga champions until 2019, and hopes that he can draw a line under the speculation linking him with a move away from the club.
“But I feel well at Bayern, and my contract runs until 2019. I will not say any more about the Speculations.”
Muller has spent his entire career with Bayern, and since making his debut back in the 2008/09 season, he has gone on to make 304 appearances across all competitions, scoring 121 goals.
