In a sensational turn of events, Alexandre Lacazette has been told by his own manager to leave Lyon this summer, potentially paving the way for a Premier League switch, the Metro report.
The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with both Arsenal and Liverpool during this window (via Metro), while the Daily Express report that Louis van Gaal was also keeping an eye on the Frenchman.
And while the Express previously suggested that the Ligue 1 side were not interested in selling their star player, the Metro claim that the club’s manager Hubert Fournier has now told the powerful forward that he wants him gone.
Fournier has not been happy with Lacazette’s attitude since speculation began regarding a possible move (via Metro).
The news that his manager wants him out is likely to please any of the interested parties, as it would suggest that the club would consider letting him go for a smaller price. However, should the reports be true, it may also put a lot of sides off making a bid.
While Lacazette appears to have grabbed the attention of many of the Premier League’s top sides, they may be concerned that if he continues his meteoric rise, many more clubs will come calling. And should he decide that he wishes to move on once again, he may adopt a similar attitude to get his way.
