Arsenal are considering the possibility of making a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Silva, who may find himself forced out of the Bernabeu this summer, according to the Metro.
The Metro report that the Gunners were interested in the 22-year-old before he completed his switch to the Bernabeu in January.
And while the Brazilian is being touted as a star of the future, it appears that Los Blancos will attempt to get him off their books this summer, as the Metro suggest that they need to sell one of their non-EU players during this window. Given the importance of some of the other names that could be sold, it seems likely that Silva will be the one to move on.
Arsene Wenger appears keen to bolster the depth available to him in the holding midfielder position. While Francis Coquelin has done well since his emergence last season, there appears to be little cover should the Frenchman sustain an injury.
Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets has been linked (via Daily Express), but Madrid’s potential need to sell Silva this summer may see the Premier League side broker a great deal to finally land the youngster.
