Paris Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani could reportedly seal a move to Arsenal in the coming days as the club continue to search for an alternative option to Real Madrid star Karim Benzema, according to the Metro.
Arsenal have supposedly been on the trail of the France international all summer, but has been thwarted by Real’s desire to keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu beyond the end of the transfer window.
However, Arsene Wenger has been keeping his eye on possible alternatives, with reports in Spain suggesting that the club are zeroing in on the giant Uruguayan, whose future with Ligue 1 champions PSG has had a dark cloud hanging over it for months.
Cavani endures a difficult relationship with manager Laurent Blanc, and has reportedly been looking for a way out of the club for months, but has so far received no concrete offers for his signature.
However, that could change very soon as the transfer window winds its way down to a close.
