Here is Wednesday’s news and gossip concerning Arsenal:
Santi Cazorla has admitted that Karim Benzema would be an excellent addition to the Gunners’ squad this summer, the Daily Mirror report.
However, the Spaniard suggested that Arsene Wenger is not looking to sign the Real Madrid forward.
“Benzema is a great player. Every side would like to have him but I think the manager already has his team made and probably he is not looking for another striker,” he stated.
Wenger may have been alerted after the Metro reported that Lyon boss Hubert Fournier has told star striker Alexandre Lacazette to leave the club this summer.
Fournier is reportedly tired of the 24-year-old’s attitude since speculation began about a possible move.
Another reported target that is unhappy currently is Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze, according to the Daily Express.
The World Cup winner hinted that if his relationship with manager Pep Guardiola did not improve, he may be forced to consider his future.
“It will work out if Guardiola talks to me more often. I’m going to let everything come to me. Anything beyond that, we’ll see,” he said.
The Emirates side have received a major boost in their pursuit of Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, the Independent report.
The Argentinian has rejected a new contract with the Serie A club, seemingly suggesting that he is not entirely happy at Stadio San Paolo.
Finally, Arsene Wenger has been given a major vote of confidence, after 76% of the club’s supporters’ trust voted that they were satisfied with the Frenchmen, the Daily Mirror report.
