It’s been a tough summer for Arsenal as their search for a striker reaches boiling point.

And according to reports in just about every media outlet, that man is Paris Saint Germain’s Edinson Cavani, despite Zlatan Ibrahimovic being the more likely of the two to make an exit this summer.
But as speculation intensifies, one very well connected Canal+ journalist has reported that there is absolutely nothing in the claims that The Gunners are circling a deal for the Uruguayan international.
According to Pierre Ménès, Arsene Wenger has never been interested in Cavani, and this is down to several reasons ranging from the transfer fee to the player’s wages.
