Here is Monday’s news and gossip concerning Arsenal:
The Gunners are still interested in pulling off a shock move for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to Kike Marin, the Metro report.
The Serie A side are hoping to scupper a deal however, by informing any interested party that they will have to trigger his release clause of £69.1m if they wish to sign him.
Liverpool are hoping to beat Arsene Wenger’s side to the signing of Dynamo Kiev forward Andriy Yarmolenko, according to the Daily Express.
The Reds are plotting to make a £14.5m bid for the 25-year-old, which would trigger his release clause.
Both Premier League sides have been left empty-handed in their battle to sign Juventus starlet Kingsley Coman, the Daily Star report.
The winger has joined Bayern Munich on a two-season loan, at the end of which, the Bundesliga champions will be able to complete a permanent move for £17m.
Wenger’s side appear to have also missed out on Real Betis midfielder Dani Ceballos, according to the Daily Express.
The Real Madrid target has confirmed that he wants to stay with the newly-promoted side.
“I want to continue at Betis and enjoy these fans for many years. They trust me because I have never failed them,” he said.
Finally, Aaron Ramsey has said that the Gunners should only be judged after ten games of the new season after the criticism the side have received following a shaky start, the Daily Mirror report.
“You have to wait 10 games and see where you are then,” he said.
“Teams are going to have upsets and so many things can happen in this league,” he added.
