Reported Arsenal target Edinson Cavani is confident that he will be able to secure a move away from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, and would be open to a switch to the Emirates, according to the Metro.
The Metro report that the 28-year-old is expecting the Gunners to make an offer before Tuesday’s deadline, and is willing to do whatever it takes to get away from Parc des Princes.
The Uruguayan has been a crucial part of Laurent Blanc’s plans so far this season, and scored the second goal in the French Super Cup win over Lyon. However, the Metro claim that Cavani’s role may change once Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns to the side and Angel Di Maria makes his debut for the Ligue 1 champions.
Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger’s need for a new striker was made blindingly obvious during the goalless draw with Liverpool. The stalemate means that the north London side have failed to score in either of their opening two home games.
