Ashley Young’s future at Manchester United could be set to become a whole lot clearer, as ESPN report that the winger has agreed a new three-year deal to stay at the club.
The report claims that the 30-year-old will put pen-to-paper on a new extension by the end of the week, thus drawing a close to speculation surrounding his future.
Young is now in the final 12 months of the deal he originally signed when he signed from Aston Villa for a fee in the region of £17m back in 2011 (via BBC).
The England international saw his form take an upswing under Louis van Gaal last season, and should the deal materialise it would represent a big reward for his efforts.
It total, Young started 23 of his 26 appearances in the Premier League last term, scoring twice. His crowning performance came in the 4-1 victory over neighbours Manchester City, in which he set up two assists and scored one for himself.
Young was being linked with a move to Premier League rivals Tottenham this summer (via Metro).
