Aston Villa have reportedly won the race to sign Barcelona youngster Adama Traore, who was also wanted by Liverpool and Stoke City, according to the Metro.
The 19-year-old has supposedly agreed a three-year deal with the Villains, with an option for a further year, while the Catalan giants are set to pocket £4.2m from the prospect’s sale (via Metro).
The attacker had been linked with a switch to Merseyside as Brendan Rodgers looked to bolster his options further, after a very busy summer for the Reds.
Having made several acquisitions aimed at improving the first-team, Traore would have perhaps found himself on the periphery at Anfield.
Meanwhile, the Potters could certainly not be ruled out of the running based on the number of former Barcelona players that have ended up at the Britannia Stadium in recent years, including Marc Muniesa, Bojan Krkic, and Ibrahim Afellay.
But, it is Tim Sherwood that appears to have managed to convince Traore to come to England, and he will be hoping that his reported new signing will be able to help the side get over the departures of their two biggest names.
