Chelsea are now seemingly clear to sign Baba Rahman after Augsburg completed a deal to sign a potential replacement, according to the Daily Express.
The Express report that the Bundesliga side have signed Philipp Max, which may pave the way for the Blues target to leave the club this summer.
Jose Mourinho is keen to sign a new left-back, having let Filipe Luis leave the club to return to Atletico Madrid earlier in the window, and has put Rahman near the very top of his transfer target wishlist (via Express).
However, Augsburg’s insistence that they will only accept bids of £17.5m for the 21-year-old has seen them turn their attention to Tottenham’s Danny Rose, the Express report.
But, the German club’s acquisition of a replacement may see them be more willing to lower their asking price.
While Mourinho will know what to expect from the Spurs man, as he has plenty of experience in the Premier League, Rahman is one of the most exciting prospects in Europe currently.
