David de Gea looks set to remain with Manchester United beyond this summer, after the Daily Express reported that his potential move to Real Madrid hit a stumbling block.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a Bernabeu switch for most of the summer, but Los Blancos have yet to make an official bid (via Express).
However, with the Spanish transfer window closing today, the Express suggest that an offer was being prepared in a last-ditch attempt to seal a move. With Rafa Benitez’s side unwilling to pay United’s asking price, the Express report that Madrid keeper Keylor Navas was set to be included as part of the deal.
However, the Costa Rica international – who has become the side’s number one following Iker Casillas’ departure – is not willing to be used as part of the agreement, and has vowed to stay put (via Express), which would suggest that de Gea will still be a Manchester United player for the time-being.
