Former Man United goalkeeper Raimond van der Gouw believes that Louis van Gaal desperately needs to add more fire power in front of goal before the transfer window shuts, the Daily Express report.
The Red Devils sold Robin van Persie, while Radamel Falcao’s loan was not made permanent following a difficult year at Old Trafford. That means that the club began the season with just Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez – who spent the last campaign out on loan – as the only senior options.
And the 52-year-old hinted that his countryman needs to go out and get at least two new forwards, with one of them needing to be world-class.
“You need a good striker but you also need something special, something extra and maybe they need one [of those type of players],” he explained.
While the Old Trafford outfit notched up two victories from their opening two games of the new season, there were serious questions in both fixtures about their ability to put the ball in the back of the net.
And if they want to be lifting the Premier League title at the end of the year, they will surely need to add more depth in that area of the pitch.
