Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano appears to have dropped a huge hint that winger Pedro is on the verge of joining Manchester United, the Daily Express report.
The Spanish international has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for the majority of the summer, and The Express is now reporting that a move is just ‘hours away’.
And it now seems that the move has been all but confirmed by Pedro’s Barcelona teammate, Mascherano, who lamented the news that the 27-year-old is on his way to the Premier League.
Speaking to reporters ahead of Roma’s pre-season victory over Roma earlier this week, the Argentine said: “Well, I wish he would stay but this is just a personal opinion.
“But if he leaves, Barcelona have lost a player that has been very important in recent years, a good professional, a good kid, a professional who is always keen on giving his best, both on the pitch and outside.
“Obviously when someone like him leaves the club it is something we feel because it is not easy to find players with his humility and eagerness to improve after having won so much.
“I have a good relationship with him and I wish he would stay.”
