Former Real Madrid legend Kaka has said that he believes Arsenal will find it difficult to sign striker Karim Benzema during the current transfer window, the Daily Express reports.
The Gunners have been consistently linked with the France international’s signature this summer as they desperately search for another striker to ease the burden from Olivier Giroud’s shoulders.
The Spanish giants have reportedly slapped a £35m asking price on the powerful forward, but Wenger is reluctant to meet their demands.
And with the deal to sign Benzema dragging on with just over two weeks of the transfer window remaining, Wenger has now apparently turned his attentions towards PSG’s Edinson Cavani instead.
On person who thinks that is a good idea is Benzema’s former teammate Kaka, who now features for MLS outfit Orlando City, as he believes that Arsenal will struggle to sign the France international during the current window.
“I think Benzema is one of the best forwards at this moment so I don’t think Real Madrid will give him away so easily,” he said.
However, he also states that the Gunners will have an exceptional striker on their hands should they manage to snap him up.
“But Karim Benzema is a very good player and if he can have the opportunity to go to Arsenal then Arsenal will take a very, very good player.”
