Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is a doubt for their big clash with Arsenal on Monday night, after having a scan on a foot injury, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 25-year-old was forced to limp off during the early stages of the second half of their victory over Bournemouth on Monday. The Mirror report that he has had the scan today and will receive the results tomorrow.
While there is little concern about a broken metatarsal, the Mirror suggest that a period of rest may be required, which would rule him out of the match at the Emirates.
The news that his skipper is set to miss the game will be a huge blow to Brendan Rodgers. With two wins under the Reds’ belt so far, the result and their performance against Arsenal could prove to be a real indication of where the side is in comparison with last season.
To not have their leader for the game is going to make the task of coming away from north London with all three points a very challenging one indeed.
