Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Paris Saint Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic after former club AC Milan ruled out bringing him back this summer, the Daily Express reports.
The mercurial forward has been the subject of some intense speculation this summer after he promised that his next would would be a ‘big surprise’ (via The Express).
And with the favourites Milan now out of the picture, the 33-year-old’s possible move to the Premier League now has more credence.
Milan chief Adriano Galliani confirmed that Zlatan’s surprise destination would definitely not be the San Siro by saying: “There’s a one in a million chance that he’ll come back [to Milan].”
The Swede has just one year remaining on his current deal in the French capital, but club owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi is desperate to keep hold of him until the deal expires next summer.
Qatari-based side Al-Sadd are also hoping to bring him on board, and may look to make him a lucrative offer in order to link him up with former Barca teammate Xavi.
