Manchester United appear to have been given a boost in their apparent pursuit of Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia after he cast his future with the Serie A giants into doubt, according to the Metro.
Reports in July (via the Metro) had claimed that United boss Louis van Gaal had made a £17.6m offer for the Argentine international even though he still has three years remaining on his current deal.
The 29-year-old joined Lazio from Belgian outfit Anderlecht in 2013, and was quickly made captain at the Stadio Olimpico.
However, despite that, he has cast his future in the Italian capital into doubt by admitted that he could still make an exit from the club this summer.
“Will I definitely stay now that I have the armband? I don’t know,” he said.
“The truth is that it doesn’t depend on me. For now, though, I’m thinking only of the game tomorrow.”
