Manchester United are reportedly keeping an eye on Real Madrid forward and Arsenal target Karim Benzema, according to the Metro.
The Metro claim however, that unlike Arsene Wenger’s side, the Red Devils are not currently considering a bid for the 27-year-old, but may change their stance should it become obvious that Los Blancos are looking to sell the Frenchman.
Louis van Gaal’s desire to bring Benzema to Old Trafford would have surely increased following another difficult game in front of goal for his team. They could only manage a goalless draw with Newcastle, which, while they remain unbeaten, means they have only managed two goals in their first three Premier League games.
That is partially down to Wayne Rooney’s struggles in front of goal, and van Gaal’s inability to pair him with someone of real quality up front.
Benzema would certainly provide that quality, and with David de Gea being pursued by Madrid (via Independent), there could well be potential for a deal to be done.
