Manchester United have decided that Tottenham stopper Hugo Lloris is the man that they want to replace David de Gea, should the Spaniard complete a move to Real Madrid, according to the Metro.
The 24-year-old appears ever more likely to make the switch to the Bernabeu during this window, and Louis van Gaal has reportedly decided that he wants him gone as soon as possible (via Marca).
Despite signing Sergio Romero, and Jasper Cillessen reportedly set to join him (via Metro), van Gaal wants to make a swoop for the Frenchman, with the Metro suggesting that the Red Devils could offer £20.9m for the 28-year-old.
Lloris has been Spurs’ most consistent player since his arrival three years ago, and helped the side finish fifth in the Premier League last season.
Unfortunately for Mauricio Pochettino’s team, it seems that they will have to do something very special to smash through the ceiling and earn a place in the division’s top four. Should Lloris decide that his teammates are not capable of earning a spot in the Champions League, he may want to try his luck at Old Trafford.
