Manchester United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Brazilian superstar Neymar, after the Guardian reported that the Barcelona man is interested in a possible move to Old Trafford.
However, the Guardian suggest that any potential deal is unlikely to happen during the latter stages of this window, but may be much more possible next summer as the Red Devils have made it one of their long-term ambitions to sign the 23-year-old.
While the forward has established himself as an integral part of the best front three in world football, he may relish the opportunity to step out of the collective shadow formed alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, and become the main man for United.
There are concerns, the Guardian claim however, that Neymar is using the interest from Louis van Gaal’s side to seek a better deal at his current club, just like teammate Dani Alves and Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos have done already this summer (via Manchester Evening News).
