Barcelona winger Pedro has reportedly undergone the first part of his medical ahead of his move to Manchester United, according to the Metro.
The Metro report that the Catalan giants want to keep hold of the 28-year-old for their UEFA Super Cup clash with Sevilla on Tuesday, but will not stand in his way after the two clubs agreed a fee, which Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport report is £24.7m (via Metro).
Should the medical go to plan, Louis van Gaal may be able to complete the signing of the Spaniard by the time that the Red Devils travel to face Aston Villa on Friday night.
Whether the Dutchman will want to risk his new man for the game remains to be seen, but the news of his arrival will surely give the club a huge boost ahead of a tricky game against Tim Sherwood’s men.
While the side got their Premier League campaign off to a solid start against Tottenham at Old Trafford, they registered just one shot on target (via BBC Sport), and will need to be a lot more creative if they wish to be considered title contenders. The addition of the Barcelona man will certainly give them that.
