Raheem Sterling has taken one final swing at former club Liverpool by claiming it was an ‘easy’ decision to join Manchester City this summer, The Sun reports.
The 20-year-old made the £49m move to join Manuel Pellegrini’s men earlier this summer after making it abundantly clear that he no longer wanted to stay at Anfield.
His exit from Merseyside can best be described as acrimonious, and he has now seemingly rubbed salt in the wound by claiming that the decision to flee was easy.
“The decision was easy when I first knew,” he said.
“With the players they’ve got here, it’s just a really attractive place to be. I’m happy I made that decision.
“It’s been a good pre-season so far. Obviously some of the results haven’t gone our way but there are some great players here.
“I’m really looking forward to linking up with them in the coming season.”
Sterling is also hoping to become more prolific in front of goal, having failed to score as many as he wanted whilst wearing red.
“I’m trying to add more goals and creativity to my game. I’m trying to gets my assist numbers and goals up.”
