Real Madrid will earn themselves £5.5m from Angel Di Maria’s imminent move from Manchester United to Paris Saint Germain, according to the Daily Express.
The Express claim that the Argentine international passed a medical with the Ligue 1 champions and is expected to complete a £44m move to Paris at a press conference on Friday.
But now, according to a report from Spain, Di Maria’s former club Real Madrid will also receive a slice of the transfer pie by pocketing £5.5m of the fee.
It is believed that Real installed a sell on clause before letting him join United, and now that he is set to move on again the Spaniards are entitled to 8% of the final sale.
Di Maria only joined United last summer in a British record £59.7m deal, but following a good start to his Red Devils career, his form on the pitch quickly dipped after struggles in his personal life crept up.
