Tottenham are reportedly in talks with Juventus about a possible move for Arsenal target Fernando Llorente, according to the Metro.
The 30-year-old is expected to leave the Serie A champions during this window, the Metro claim, after Massimiliano Allegri added both Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala to his squad ahead of the new campaign. And while the Gunners were being touted as a possible destination for the World Cup winner, it appears that their bitter rivals may be hoping to scupper a move.
However, both sides appear to have lots of competition for the Spaniard’s signature. The Metro claim that the Old Lady have valued the forward at £8.5m, which may have given plenty of sides confidence that they could get an ambitious move done.
Following the sale of Roberto Soldado, and the clear loss of faith in Emmanuel Adebayor, Mauricio Pochettino is in desperate need of bolstering his attacking ranks and giving Harry Kane some kind of support. The prospect of teaming the youngster with a World Cup winner – for less than £10m – appears to have proved too tempting.
