Tottenham will attempt to bring Liverpool striker Fabio Borini to White Hart Lane if they fail to sign West Brom forward Saido Berahino, according to the Daily Express.
Mauricio Pochettino is determined to provide Harry Kane with extra support and remains in the market for another front man, having already added Clinton N’Jie.
The Baggies’ talisman has been the subject of two bids, both of which have been rejected, and has now put in a transfer request to try and force through a move, the Express report.
However, Pochettino appears to be preparing an alternative should Tony Pulis dig his heels in and resist any interest for his striker, and perhaps surprisingly, Borini is that man.
Though the Italian has enjoyed a decent loan spell with Sunderland, his time at Anfield has been a monumental struggle. He has scored just two goals in 25 Premier League games, and appears to be absolutely no part of Brendan Rodgers’ plans this season.
However, they may have to beat Inter Milan for his signature. The Express claim the Serie A side are closing in on a deal, and a move could be completed imminently.
