Forgotten Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has told the club that he wants a big payoff if he is to leave this summer, the Metro reports.
Flamini has reportedly been told that he is free to leave the club during the current transfer window having fallen down the midfield pecking order behind Francis Coquelin and Mikel Arteta.
An offer from Turkish giants Galatasaray had been accepted for Flamini earlier in the summer, while the Gunners also granted Bastia the opportunity to speak with him as well, but a report from Goal.com claims that the Frenchman has demanded a massive payoff before leaving.
Flamini is presently collecting £65,000-per-week at Arsenal, and has apparently stated that he wants the club to reimburse him because he won’t be able to receive anything near that number anywhere else.
His reluctance to move on is apparently what is holding up Arsenal’s move for another holding midfielder.
