West Ham are reportedly closing in on the signing of Barcelona youngster Alen Halilovic, according to the Metro, and plan to complete the move next week.
The Metro report that the Hammers are hoping to spend £5.2m on the 19-year-old, but the move will include a clause which will allow the Catalan giants to buy back the attacking midfielder for £6.9m.
While the Croatian is yet to feature for Luis Enrique’s side in La Liga, he has featured for the club’s first-team in the Copa Del Rey – with his debut coming when he replaced another seemingly Premier League bound player in Adama Traore (via Metro) – and became a full international at the tender age of 16.
While the Boleyn Ground outfit’s new manager Slaven Bilic had quit as Croatia’s head coach the year before Halilovic appeared for the main side, he would have probably been aware of the prospect’s talent, as he featured for several of the country’s youth teams.
