AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has claimed that Mario Balotelli is now a changed man since his return to the San Siro, according to the Metro.
The 25-year-old was allowed to leave Liverpool on loan after it appeared that Brendan Rodgers had given up on trying to get the best out of him. The Guardian reported that the former Manchester City man once turned around in a training match and lobbed his own goalkeeper from the halfway-line, in an incident that summed up his time on Merseyside, and exemplified the frustration surrounding the incredibly talented, but poorly focused Italian.
But Galliani suggested that Balotelli has finally found that focus, and has backed him to finally deliver on his potential (via Metro).
“He has an extraordinary attitude, he’s changed radically,” he said.
“He’s probably realised that this is his last chance and I’m sure he won’t waste it. His technical ability has never been in question. If he continues with the approach he’s had in this first week then he’ll be fine,” he added.
Although Galliani has been impressed so far, the level of competition in the Milan squad means that Balotelli’s desire to change will be severely tested in the coming months.
The Serie A side’s top goalscorer from last season, Jeremy Menez has been kept out of the side by new signings Luiz Adriano and Carlos Bacca, who both scored in the victory over Empoli.
And with Balotelli’s most recent form being a pretty torrid spell at Anfield, it is difficult to see where he fits into the side.
