Arsenal are good enough to go on and win the Premier League title this season, according to former Gunners hero Charlie Nicholas, the Daily Mirror report.
Arsene Wenger’s side bounced back from an embarrassing defeat on the opening day of the season against West Ham to go unbeaten in their next four games, including three wins, and Nicholas suggests that they can build on their solid start to end their long wait for the title (via Mirror).
“I may be the only one who thinks this but I believe that this current group is good enough to win the league,” he said.
Despite the good start, the north London outfit are already five points adrift of league leaders Manchester City, while Man United and surprisingly, Leicester City also sit above them in the table.
Many frustrated supporters may well put the gap between themselves and Manuel Pellegrini’s side down to the lack of spending during the summer.
Petr Cech was the Gunners’ only signing of the window, making them the only team from the top five leagues in Europe that did not add an outfield player to their ranks.
And while Nicholas believes they have enough in their current squad to see them lift the trophy, there is little question of what the critics will point to as the deciding factor, should they fall short.
