Barcelona plan to celebrate the end of their transfer embargo by making a move for Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho in January, according to the Daily Express.
The Catalan giants have put the Brazilian near the very top of their shopping list, and hope to bring him to the Nou Camp at the earliest opportunity.
Although the 23-year-old’s most recent appearance for the Reds saw him sent off during the thrashing to West Ham, Coutinho has established himself as the key man in Brendan Rodgers’ side in the last couple of seasons.
The attacking midfielder is the Anfield outfit’s most creative player, having bagged twelve assists in the last two seasons, and he showed that he was the still the main man at the start of this current campaign – despite a busy summer on Merseyside that saw Roberto Firmino arrive – when he scored a late stunner that won the game against Stoke City.
For Liverpool fans, the speculation will evoke a horrible sense of deja vu, following the departure of Luis Suarez in 2014.
