Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao has revealed that he is looking forward to facing up against his former club FC Porto in the Champions League this week, the Daily Star reports.
The Colombian international made his Champions League debut in this very fixture in 2009 having arrived from Argentine giants River Plate. The Blues ran out 1-0 winners on that occasion.
And amazingly, if Falcao is picked tonight it will be the first time that he has ever faced a former club in his career.
“I am excited I am returning to play in the Champions League and I have been waiting for that,” said the 29-year-old striker.
“I return to Porto, a very good place. I have good memories of that club, and that city, and I have never returned. It is my first time – it is my first time returning to an old club and I still know some players.”
Falcao cut a popular figure at Porto, where he came close to averaging a goal every game as well as helping them lift the Europa League trophy in 2011.
