Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Willian will miss Chelsea’s clash with Arsenal on Saturday, but hinted that Pedro may well feature at Stamford Bridge, according to the Daily Express.
Despite only playing 23 minutes of the clash against Maccabi Tel Aviv, it was the Brazilian that opened the scoring in the Champions League tie. Meanwhile, Pedro may have given Mourinho a worry ahead of the visit from Arsene Wenger’s men after missing the game against the Israeli side.
But, the Blues boss has suggested that the former Barcelona man, as well as Oscar – who doubled Chelsea’s lead in midweek – and Radamel Falcao are in contention to go up against the Gunners (via Express).
“Willian is not even an option,” he stated.
“Pedro, Falcao, Oscar, let’s see what happens. Let’s see,” he added.
With such an emphatic win under their belts, the Premier League champions will be hoping to capitalise and finally, get their league season off and running.
Although Willian is likely to be a big miss for Mourinho, having Pedro back will be a major boost, should he be available, as he has made an excellent start to life in England, and could prove to be the catalyst for a good run of form that brings them back into the title picture.
