Victor Moses is hoping that he can use his chance at West Ham to inspire Slaven Bilic’s side up the table, according to the Daily Star.
The Chelsea winger moved to the Hammers on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day, and he revealed that he is looking forward to playing at the Boleyn Ground (via Star).
“I want to add my quality to what West Ham already have and hopefully we can do even better than last season. I am very pleased to work under the new manager,” he said.
The 24-year-old added that he was looking forward to working with the players that also signed for the east London outfit on the final day of the window, and hoped to be providing plenty of goals for his teammates.
“There is a huge amount of talent with Alex Song and Nikica Jelavic joining the club and I want to help the club finish as high up in the table as possible,” he insisted.
“Andy Carroll is a great striker and has a lot of experience in the Premier League. All the forwards have got a lot of experience and I want to help them score more goals,” Moses added.
This will be the third consecutive season that the Nigeria international has spent out on loan with a Premier League side, having played for Liverpool and Stoke previously.
And like his own situation at Chelsea – where he is trying to establish himself as part of Jose Mourinho’s side – the club he has joined are also trying to establish themselves, as they try to become a side that regularly finish in the top half of the division.
Last season they provided a major indication that they were not far away from making that leap into a position from which they were in contention to challenge for a European spot. But while they sat in the top four on Christmas Day, a poor run of form saw them fall down to 12th by the time the campaign came to a close.
The Hammers have made a bizarre start to this season, as while they have lost at home to Leicester City and Bournemouth, they have gone to Arsenal and Liverpool and left with all three points on both occasions.
