Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has flown out to America in an attempt to speed up his recovery from a heel injury, and, in the process, help to take some of the pressure off manager Brendan Rodgers, according to the Daily Express.
The midfielder has been missing since limping out of the victory against Bournemouth, and in his absence, the Reds have failed to collect a single win, and have been thumped at West Ham, before losing against Manchester United.
The Express report that Henderson has been told that rest will help the problem, but with the optimism from the first two games of the season almost completely evaporated, he is seeking possible alternative methods that would allow him to return to the first-team in a much shorter space of time.
Although the 25-year-old has yet to make a major impact on this current season, he proved his value to the side when in Steven Gerrard’s absence during the last campaign, he led the side to a promising seven-match unbeaten run in all competitions, which included the England man scoring three goals.
