Manchester United have received no approaches for popular midfielder Ander Herrera despite rumours linking him with Spanish giants Barcelona and Villarreal, according to the Metro.
The Catalan side were said to be eyeing him up as a potential replacement for recently departed icon Xavi, but United have no plans to allow him to move on in the near future (via talkSPORT).
Despite his good form since joining the club, Herrera hasn’t always been a regular starter under Louis van Gaal, so should one of the bigger sides from his native land stump up the cash in a serious offer, he may decide to move on rather than languish on United’s bench.
However, for now, it appears as though he is forming a key part of the Red Devils squad on a deeper level as he competes with the likes of Morgan Schniederlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger for a place in the first team.
