Manchester United are said to be weighing up a deadline day deal for veteran Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben, according to the Metro.
United have reportedly been monitoring the former Chelsea man’s progress so far this season after his place came under threat thanks to the recent arrival of Douglas Costa from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Some commentators believe that Costa’s arrival in Bavaria will signal the end of Robben’s time at the club and they will thus allow him to move on should a suitable offer come in for him.
Louis van Gaal has worked extensively with his compatriot over the years and has developed a good relationship with him, with reports in Spain suggesting that he will attempt to lure him to Old Trafford before the English window closes at 6pm.
However, while a fee of £73m has been mooted, it is unlikely that United will want to pay that kind of money for him considering his age.
