Real Madrid rejected a bid of £110m from Paris Saint-Germain for Manchester United target Cristiano Ronaldo, according to the Daily Star.
The Ligue 1 champions made the staggering offer in the final days of the window, and while the bid was knocked back by Los Blancos, the Star report that Laurent Blanc is preparing another move for the 30-year-old next summer.
PSG want the Portuguese star to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who they expect to leave Parc des Princes at the end of the current season (via Star).
The news of the bid is likely to alert the Red Devils, who the Star suggest are interested in bringing their former talisman back to Old Trafford after six years at the Bernabeu.
And while Louis van Gaal may be keen on signing Ronaldo, it would not be a surprise if United decided against a bid if Madrid are looking for an amount of over £100m.
There is no doubt that Ronaldo remains as one of the very best players in the world, but whether he would be able to justify such a huge fee certainly leaves a major question mark over whether the Premier League side should make a move.
