There seems t0 be a degree of disarray behind the scenes at Manchester United after the Daily Express reported that a number of the club’s top players confronted manager Louis van Gaal over his training methods.
The Dutchman has a long history of falling out with his players because of his tactics and methods, (via BBC) and is famous for his hardline stance on discipline.
He came down hard on goalkeeper Victor Valdes earlier in the summer and has virtually ended his Man United career (via Express), while he also punished Marcos Rojo heavily for failing to show up on the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.
And now a report in The Times claims that he is ruffling even more feathers after they reported that a number of senior players confronted him about the way he is running the club.
The report states that the confrontation happened several weeks ago in the dressing room, with players concerned about the “lack of creativity and flexibility” on the training ground, which is in turn effecting them on the pitch.
United currently lie fifth in the table after a steady start to the campaign, but van Gaal has already come in for criticism over his transfer policy (via Express).
