Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been boosted by the news that Alexis Sanchez, Laurent Koscielny, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini are all back in contention to feature in this weekend’s clash with Watford, the Metro reports.
Wenger had concerns over Sanchez’s fitness going into the international break, but the 26-year-old came through the victory over Peru without any problems and is now ready to dive straight back into first team duties with The Gunners (via Metro).
The Metro also claims that defender Koscielny, who missed the 3-0 victory over Manchester United earlier this month, is back in time to take on Quique Sanchez Flores’ side.
Midfielder Flamini was also missing for the United game while club captain Mikel Arteta has now returned to full training (via Metro).
“Arteta and Flamini are back in full training,” said Wenger.
“We need to see how they are and how confident they are but we can’t rule it out.
“Koscielny has a slight chance to be back on Saturday. He has a definite test tomorrow.
“We are still waiting for [Joel] Campbell, Alexis and [David] Ospina to return but they all texted back to say they were okay, so we just have to see if they were objective in their assessment.”
