Arsenal full-back Nacho Monreal has reiterated his commitment to the club by agreeing a new three-year deal to stay put amid reports of a move to Athletic Bilbao, according to the Metro.
The Spanish international was heavily linked with a move to the Basque side during the summer transfer window, only for manager Arsene Wenger to convince him that his future lay at The Emirates instead (via Metro).
Monreal, 29, has been the club’s first choice left-back ahead of Kieran Gibbs so far this term, and has been one of the club’s star performers as Arsene Wenger attempts to mount a serious title challenge.
And now, according to the Daily Mail, the defender has agreed fresh terms on a new three-year contract with the FA Cup holders that will see him remain at the club into his thirties.
