Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is said to be eyeing up a new striker for the January transfer window, according to the Daily Express.
The long-standing boss only managed to bring Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech to the club over the summer, opting against making any more signings before the window drew to a close on September 1.
The Express reports that the fans wanted a high profile signing, like Paris Saint Germain’s Edinson Cavani, or Real Madrid frontman Karim Benzema, but so far they have had to rely on Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud for the goals.
The Daily Mail have recently reported that Wenger has ordered his scouts to find out more about Dynamo Moscow’s Aleksandr Kokorin and Celta Vigo forward Nolito.
Both players were rumoured to be on Wenger’s wish list over the summer (via Express), and though they may not be perceived as world class names, they would both certainly add something to Arsenal’s front line.
Nolito recently helped Celta to an impressive 4-1 victory over Barcelona, while Kokorin is a regular in the Russian national side, winning 34 caps.
