Friday’s biggest Chelsea news and transfer rumours.
Jose Mourinho has confirmed Chelsea are in the process of signing veteran Italian goalkeeper Marco Amelia as cover for current no.2 stopper Asmir Begovic, according to the Daily Star.
Begovic, who moved to Stamford Bridge this summer from Stoke, is currently deputising for Thibaut Courtois, who is on the sidelines with a knee injury.
Diego Costa has been dropped from Spain’s squad for their final two Euro 2016 qualifying fixtures – with Vicente Del Bosque critical of the striker’s antics against Arsenal, the Daily Mirror reports.
La Roja take on Luxembourg next Friday, before travelling to Ukraine three days later.
Chelsea are reportedly in constant contact with the agent of Giannelli Imbula ahead of a potential transfer, the Metro reports.
It’s believed the Blues were tracking Imbula over the summer but the France Under-21 international ended up moving from Marseille to Porto for £14.7million instead.
Jose Mourinho says goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is on course to return from injury in December, the Daily Express reports.
