Chelsea midfielder Ramires has said that he is pleased to be back in the fold with the first team and hopes to score more goals in the coming weeks, the Daily Star reports.
Ramires recently announced the arrival of his new born son, Bruno (via Star), and followed that up by bagging two goals in four days against Walsall and Newcastle.
Injury has interrupted the Brazilian from making a serious impact so far this season, but he is keen to get up to speed and help his struggling teammates get back on track.
“It’s been a very exciting time,” he said.
“I am feeling extremely happy because I have come back playing and I have a new baby now. The whole family is happy and that makes me happier to play football and enjoy the games.
“It was a surprise for me because Bruno was due to be born on the day of the Newcastle game, but he came a day early! That meant I could travel to Newcastle with the team on Friday.
“It was special to score in the match before he was born and the match after he was born, but that is football. Maybe it was a sign – they were presents for him!
“I always need to keep improving to try and score more goals.
“Against Newcastle I could have scored two more. Willian’s free-kick went in anyway.
“I definitely didn’t touch it, and in fact if I had the goalkeeper might have saved it, so I can say I helped his goal. The other one from Willian’s free-kick which I did get my head on was a good save.”
