New Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is said to be wasting no time in identifying potential transfer targets and has made an enquiry into the availability of Napoli star Jorginho, according to the Metro.
A report in Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the former Dortmund chief is planning a dramatic overhaul of his new side in the new year and has already targeted the Napoli star as a name to bring on board.
However, The Reds aren’t alone in their interest of the 23-year-old as Gazzetta also claim that Premier League rivals Southampton are also keeping tabs on his situation.
The Metro draws comparisons between Jorginho and Liverpool’s own Lucas Leiva, who have both had to fight their way back into their respective sides with a series of top level performances.
The Metro also rounds off their report by claiming that it would take an offer of somewhere between £14.8m and £22.2m to take him away from the San Paolo as he still has three years remaining on his current deal.
