Celta Vigo forward is said to be prepared to turn down Barcelona ahead of a proposed move to Arsenal, according to the Metro.
The Spanish international has been a target for his former side recently, but with Barcelona eyeing a move for Paris Saint Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi a deal has been complicated to move forward (via Metro).
The player is said to be well aware of Arsene Wenger’s interest in him, with the Metro claiming that he would be an important part of the Arsenal set up.
However, reports in Spain suggest that he will make Arsenal wait to sign him as he is keen to see out the remainder of the campaign with the Galician giants.
The 28-year-old has started the season in flying form, bagging five goals in his first five games of the season, helping them to keep in the running at the top of the La Liga table.
