Arsenal reportedly have £70 million to spend this month to bring a “sensational” transfer to the Emirates Stadium, according to the Evening Standard.
The Gunners brought in Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny for £5 million earlier this month, the only major move from the Premier League’s top sides until Chelsea got Alexandre Pato on loan.
Despite Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger seemingly content with his squad, he reportedly has a huge amount to spend on a “sensational” transfer this transfer window.
The Frenchman did say recently that he would keep looking for new players and make a move if an “exceptional case” came up.
And the Evening Standard’s report says that the Gunners chief has £70m to splash in an attempt to go for a late transfer.
The £15m-rated Adrien Rabiot is a player Arsenal could bring over from PSG, where the 20-year-old is far from happy with his playing time.
Other targets are Napoli’s Jorginho, Southampton’s Victor Wanyama, Real Madrid’s Isco and Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Arsenal are currently ranked second in the Premier League, trailing leaders Leicester by three points.
