Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy is set to join Ligue 1 club Bordeaux in a loan move until the end of the season.
French publication L’Equipe reports that the deal will not contain an option to buy, and the 30-year old will be expected to return to Emirates Stadium in the summer.
Earlier on Monday, reports suggested that Manchester United have approached Gunners about a possible loan move for the Frenchman, but their approach was reportedly turned down by the North London club.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger reportedly blocked Debuchy moving to Old Trafford by himself, according to Metro, with the Frenchman refusing to let one of his players join a title rival on loan.
Debuchy was also linked with loan moves to Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Sunderland in the transfer window.
The France international has fallen behind Hector Bellerin in the pecking order at Emirates Stadium, and he is desperate for regular playing opportunities ahead of the summer’s European Championships. He has managed only two league appearances for the Gunners this season.
Bordeaux will have to pay a £1.5m loan fee, and cover player’s £60,000-a-week wages to complete the signing.
